Who Is Daniel Vior?
Daniel Vior is a contemporary jewellery designer based in Barcelona, Spain. His work stands apart for its bold use of colour, organic forms inspired by nature, and the exceptional quality of its execution.
Every piece is designed in his Barcelona studio and crafted using traditional silversmithing techniques combined with his signature enamel work.
The Enamel Technique
Enamelling involves fusing powdered glass to a metal surface at extremely high temperatures — typically between 750°C and 850°C — creating a smooth, glass-like coating of vivid colour.
Fire Enamel
The traditional method of applying powdered glass to silver and firing it in a kiln. Each colour may require a separate firing, and complex pieces can go through the kiln multiple times.
Layered Application
Many pieces achieve their remarkable depth of colour through multiple layers of translucent enamel. Light passes through these layers and reflects off the silver beneath.
Colour Gradients
Some of his most striking designs feature smooth transitions between colours, requiring extraordinary precision in application and firing.
Design Philosophy: Nature as Inspiration
Daniel Vior draws deeply from the natural world — leaves, petals, water, geological formations, and marine life. But these are never literal reproductions. Instead, he abstracts and reinterprets natural shapes into clean, contemporary silhouettes.
What Sets Daniel Vior Apart
- Sculptural Dimension — pieces have genuine sculptural presence that catches light and creates shadow
- Precision Engineering — every piece is engineered with precision for perfect wearability
- Colour as a Language — enamel defines the form as much as the silver does
- Made in Barcelona — every piece crafted in his own workshop, no outsourcing
Caring for Enamel Jewellery
- Store carefully — keep enamel pieces separate to avoid impacts
- Clean gently — use a soft, damp cloth
- Avoid drops — enamel can chip if dropped onto hard surfaces
- Remove during physical activity
- Keep away from harsh chemicals
